Haskel Hess Endowment

Libraries rarely have the opportunity to purchase materials, equipment, or indulge in projects that aren’t necessities, and the Education Library at UF is no exception. Mrs. Enid Ashe of Miami changed that situation by establishing an endowment for the library in her late husband’s name.

Haskel Hess held a deep belief and desire to help those in genuine need. Throughout his life, he offered wisdom and assistance to others. When Carrie Hunt, Mrs. Ashe’s daughter-in-law, explained her dream of having an extra fund to support Education Library materials and services, Mrs. Ashe generously offered to set up an endowment in Mr. Hess’ name. The Haskel Hess Education Library Endowment now satisfies some library needs not addressed by public funding, and supports library services that will help College of Education students and faculty compete in the 21st century and beyond.
